  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ½ cup yellow onion (diced)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ketchup
  • ¾ teaspoon EACH: Dried oregano, basil, parsley
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • ½ cup half and half
  • ½ beef bouillon cube (see notes)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook seasoned ground beef with onions until browned; drain excess grease.
  2. Boil water and cook macaroni until al dente; drain.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic; add flour and tomato paste.
  4. Gradually mix in broth and tomato sauce; simmer for flavor development.
  5. Stir in cheese until melted and creamy; combine with cooked beef and macaroni.
