  • 1 large piece of flank steak
  • 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 T soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. ground chipotle chile powder
  • 2 tsp. lime zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together lime juice, olive oil, cumin, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, and chipotle chili powder.
  2. Place the flank steak in a Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal tightly and refrigerate for 8 hours or up to 24 hours.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates.
  4. Remove steak from the refrigerator 30 minutes before grilling to reach room temperature.
  5. Grill steak for 4-6 minutes per side until desired doneness (140-145°F for medium rare).
  6. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
