  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice apple vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 4 tsp corn starch
  • 2/3 cup water
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, corn starch, baking powder, egg white, and water to create a smooth batter. Coat chicken strips evenly.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to medium (350°F). Fry chicken strips in batches for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Remove cooked chicken with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together sauce ingredients: canola oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, honey, cornstarch, and water. Heat in a pan while whisking until thickened.
  5. Combine fried chicken with the sauce in the pan; toss until well-coated.
