  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 2 bell peppers, thinly sliced (any color)
  • 1 cup cooked rice for serving
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  2. Marinate the beef for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef until browned (about 5-7 minutes) and set aside.
  4. Sauté onions and carrots until softened (3-5 minutes).
  5. Add bell peppers and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet; heat through.
  7. Serve over cooked rice, garnished with scallions and sesame seeds.
